Kv Jublet

Housing with a Local Touch in Kalmar

In the Kv Jublet project, we supplement the planned street network with a new green structure for recreation, activity and new links between the different parts of the city. Together with the recreation trail and the new park, the new local streets improve city life in the area and facilitate public access to Malmfjärden Bay. A link is created between Fredriksskansparken and the unique arbours of Rävspelet park, while the connection between Malmen and Kvarnholmen, Malmfjärden and the rest of Kalmar is re-established. Urban life and park life are interwoven to create a varied, dense inner-city environment.

The location of the new neighbourhood is characterised today by its proximity to Malmfjärden Bay, several beautiful landmarks, distinctive architectural features and a consistent material palette. The new buildings incorporate a clear health and mobility profile and contain both leasehold and freehold accommodation. The courtyards and the shared roof terrace offer space for activity and relaxation. To promote sustainable travel habits, residents have access to a bicycle pool adjacent to the garden.

With their Öland limestone cladding and French balconies, the façades facing onto Fredriksskansgatan and Kvartersgatan reflect the urban character of the street and Östberg school. On this side, the balconies overlook the street. Facing the park, the buildings have a softer appearance with solid wood balconies and façade cladding in Småland pine.
