Deas

An interior that enhances the details

The new interior design for DEAS Asset Management has emerged by paying attention to everything from the total effect down to the minutest detail. The idea is that the totality of the design enhances the details in order to accentuate that little extra something, that which is exclusive and unique. The interiors should foster an atmosphere that directs the focus not only to the details of the interior design but also to the content of the work being carried out, be it documents on a desk or meetings between people.

The 282 m² large DEAS offices are located in the third high rise Hötorg Building, designed by Sven Markelius. The commission comprised new glass sections, a new kitchenette with an island, new bathrooms, new finishes and furniture. Existing doors have been freshened up and retained, and the open floor plan has been completed with rooms for meetings and a wet group area which helps to define the boundary between the office area and its social centre. The possibility of delimiting rooms with curtains rather than walls ensures that the modernist ideal of views and light is kept intact.

The interior design is built on a base of light colours and noble, sustainable materials. The preserved oak parquet and the tactile grasscloth wallpaper provide both warmth and a cosy feeling. In combination with the textiles, the grasscloth wallpaper also creates a pleasant acoustic environment. The carpets’ specially designed pattern reflects the façades of the adjacent skyscraper with a beautiful grid pattern of various, intertwined colours. Carpets and furniture in matching colours infuse the spaces with energy. The colours of the offices’ social heart are not provided by carpets but by painted walls and columns, which creates a decorative contrast to the otherwise subdued and Nordic natural colour scheme. DEAS’s new offices are a space in which everything interacts, allowing the details to become visible, in which the patterns of the carpets highlight the classic furniture and the existing qualities have been preserved and enhanced.
