At the same time that the administrative part of Sveriges Allmänna Konstförening (the Swedish Association for Art) moved to a new office in the fall of 2005 a renovation of the former office, situated on on one of Östermalm’s busiest commercial streets was required.

By removing a bathroom, a long continuous space is created in the center of which a smaller inner room accommodates the reception and sales. This leaves two gallery spaces, one toward the street and one toward the courtyard. Each takes on its own character and light but is finished as a unified white box. The central room stands in contrast with its dark colors and textured materials.
